Welcome Autumn

Well even though fall officially began on September21, it took a little longer to arrive here in the south. With today feeling very fall like, I decided it was time for mixing up our annual batch of hot cocoa mix. Every fall the kids and I mix up a new batch, some years we keep it simple and other years we get fancy. This year we decided to stick with the tried and true recipe, and keep it simple.

This makes the richest hot chocolate, and then top it off
with some fresh whipped cream and it is a dessert all by itself.

You take:
4 cups of powdered milk
2 cups of powdered sugar
1cup of cocoa powder
1 pinch of salt

Mix that all in a very large mixing bowl until throughly blended and then store in a 2 quart container, or 2 quart jars. Add about 3tablespoons to 1 cup of hot milk or water and sit back and enjoy.

My first post!

Well I am new to the blogging world, so this is my very first post. I love to decorate and redecorate, my house. so I would like to share how I do this on a budget. I am a military wife and we live in military housing so in a sense we are renters, I hope to show how we have made our little borrowed house feel like our own with just the simple things that we have done. ( pictures to come later)

I also love to find discarded items and make them useful, and beautiful again, so I will be posting lots of thrifty before and after treasures. Much love to all and happy thrifting!
